Services

The project will consist of three programs; 1) Individual, 2) Schools partnership 3) Respite care programmes

The individual program 1-1 Mentoring and positive activities are the main theme of the individual programme. Young people are referred via other services or young people can refer themselves. The program will consist of 5-20hrs per week of community based work, which will involve mentoring, life skills, Educational/Employment support, family support/mediation exercise and positive activities, this program can include some group activities and trips, dependent on individual needs.

Schools partnership program The Schools partnership program will consist of providing support to Young People through the School environment, including providing a mentor to young people and working with Themes Valley police to identify young people at risk. The Schools partnership program provides workshops on such themes as respect and diversity.

Respite care programmes To provide short term respite care, providing a positive experience through activities. These activities will include outdoor pursuits/education, and life skills. We aim to provide a positive and reflective experience.

Young people's participation is at the forefront of The Young Minds Project, and all young people will be involved and consulted with about their individual plan. The project will use the Steiner model of Education that enables Young people to develop in all areas. Hands-on learning through activities such as gardening sit alongside conventional education.
